Looking forward to TAWPI in Washington…

We are just a few days away from the annual TAWPI Forum and Expo. I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, meeting some new people, and learning about the newest ideas and market needs in our ever-changing world of payment processing. I have to say that these are for me the two most appealing aspects of my role – building relationships, and gaining new knowledge and insight.
I find it interesting that in these days of text messaging, email, cell phones, videoconferencing, websites, and blogs that the importance of meeting face-to-face has not diminished. If anything, it is more important to be very intentional about personal meetings and building relationships that go deeper than electronic communications permit. There is still something about being able to look a person in the eye, shake their hand, and sit and talk that provides the opportunity to build a strong working relationship.
With hundreds of industry experts under one roof, knowledgeable speakers, and innovative technology vendors (including Purepay of course), there will be opportunities for learning at every turn. Even with 25 years of experience in the remittance processing business, I will enter the convention hall in Washington with the expectation that I will learn new concepts and gain new insights. Maybe I’ll even have new blog material … stay tuned.
I hope to see you in Washington!
