Press Release - Creditron Certifies SmartSource Adaptive Scanner

Device automates scanning of a wide variety of intermixed document types

OAKVILLE, ON, February 22, 2010 – Creditron, Inc., a leading provider of image-enabled solutions that automate the payments cycle, today announced that it has certified the SmartSource Adaptive scanner from Burroughs Payment Systems, Inc., for use with its ItemAge Express remittance processing platform.  The SmartSource Adaptive is a tabletop MICR-enabled solution capable of scanning a wide variety of intermixed document types.

"The Adaptive scanner extends the capabilities of ItemAge Express by redefining application workflows to allow multiple document types to be scanned by a single device," commented Wally Vogel, founder and CEO of Creditron.  "This functionality is becoming increasingly important as billers look for new ways to reduce costs and eliminate 'information float.'"

Alan Howard, president and CEO, Burroughs Payment Systems, Inc, stated “At Burroughs, we’re excited when partners embrace our new technologies and recognize the positive impacts they can bring to customer experience and value.  Creditron has provided flexible and scalable solutions for payment processing for many years and the introduction of the SmartSource Adaptive to their product portfolio further proves their commitment to finding the right solution for customers every time.”

Based on the SmartSource Series check imaging platform from Burroughs, the Adaptive was especially designed to scan a range of document types, including checks, remittance stubs, full-page documents, signature cards, and envelopes.  By employing one document entry point into their ItemAge Express system, users can streamline the workflow for document-intensive applications such remittance, healthcare, insurance and public sector.  The Adaptive also eliminates the expense of having separate scanners for checks and full-page documents.

In addition to its multi-feed capabilities, the Adaptive also features a compact and ergonomic design, a Web-based interface, flexible endorsement capabilities, and image quality testing.
